
Landon Abbott and Anastasia Allen participated in the regional science fair this weekend at Ball State University. Landon, a 4th grader, won 1st place in the Elementary division with his project "A Greasy Situation". Landon also earned first place in the Biology/Health Science division. Anastasia is a 5th grader, and participated in the junior division. She received honorable mention in the chemistry category with her project "Volcanic Eruptions". Way to go to our Viking Scientists!


5th grade students competed in a Shark Tank competition where they had to create an invention or innovation and present their ideas to a panel of judges. The top 10 students were voted on by their peers and presented in front of a group of teachers. The top 5 students then presented to members of the community. Marshall Noble was the winner with his invention "Hot Hat".

Our Mechanical Vikings Robotics team competed this past weekend at the Brave Bots Robotics Competition at Selma Elementary. BRV Elementary had 4 teams competing. What a fun day to see all of the different robots!








Tomorrow, the BRV Elementary Robotics teams will be competing at Selma Elementary. Due to the weather, the start time has been pushed back. The doors will open at 11:00. Team members should be at BRV at 10:15. Good luck to all 4 of the BRV Elementary Robotics teams!

Tonight's JV and Varsity Boys' Basketball games have been postponed until tomorrow, Saturday, February 17, 2024. The JV game will begin at 6:00. Senior Night recognition will immediately follow the JV game. Please come support our Vikings tomorrow night!

The 6th Grade E-Sports team just won their first game. They won 3-0 against Batesville. Great job Vikings!

Our 5th and 6th grade students took a trip to BizTown last week. Students spent the day working at a company of their choosing. They got to run the business, get paid, and learn about the importance of hard work and budgeting their money. #VikingVictories







Our Little Vikings Pre-K got to interact with our piggy visitors last week. They developed their observation skills, learned more about farm animals, and heard their little squeals!

On February 7, 2024, BRV has a pre-planned e-learning day for the afternoon only. Elementary students will dismiss at 11:30 and junior/senior high students will dismiss at 11:40. Due to the pm e-learning day, we will not have Late-Start Wednesday. Tomorrow, all students should report to school by 8:00 am. Thank you.

Blue River Valley Elementary held our annual Spelling Bee on February 1. The winner is Savannah, and runner up is Cooper. The winning word was "cress". Savannah now goes on to compete in the Regional Competition on Saturday, March 9 at Ball State University. Great job to all of our superb spellers!


The 5th graders took a virtual field trip today with the Indiana State Fair and these pigs from Becker Showpigs took a field trip to BRV. Thank you, 5th grade teachers and Mrs. Becker!
